Day #11 Tools and Extensions

Day 11: Tools and extensions

Today, I wanted to discuss some of the Chrome extensions that I use to make my sourcing easier.

Extensity

Extensity is a chrome extension that lets you quickly manage your chrome extensions. To be honest, I would get this even if I wasn’t in OA; it is just really useful for keeping Google Chrome organized and efficient.

It is way more organized than the alternative of manually typing in your dozens of extensions just to toggle them on and off. When you are sourcing, you will quickly have 10+ extensions running at the same time and this will help you manage it.

You can also choose which profile you are using and which accounts chrome extensions you're managing. It is very useful and is also free to download on the chrome store.

OneTab

There is nothing worse than having 20 tabs on the chrome window and not being able to properly navigate the internet, which is an inevitable problem when doing online Arbitrage.

OneTab is a free extension that allows you to hide your tabs and consolidate your space and performance on Google Chrome.

This extension appears as a minimized tab on the top of your screen. If you find yourself overwhelmed with tabs, simply hide them and you can access all of them at your discretion, while also freeing up your tab space and making navigation of chrome easier.

It is free to purchase on the chrome store and is too useful, in my opinion, to pass up.

OA Buddy

This is a paid extension that you can use to get helpful advice about any given retailer site as you source online or by manually looking them up using the search menu.

You can also enter custom notes that you can look at later. Click on Database to pull up OA Buddy’s master database and find OA pertinent info about most retailers under the sun!

Personal Blocklist

This free extension allows you to block given sites from your online searches.

This is really helpful when you are sourcing because you will eventually reach retailers that you do not want to see, and this helps control that.

SimilarWeb

This extension is really useful for pulling up website ranking. You can also use More Insights to quickly find retailers in your preferred categories.

I wouldn’t get the paid plan, as the free version is really all you need.

Loom

Loom lets you record your screen and quickly share annotated videos with other people. It is a really valuable tool for training and managing employees.

This is great for meetings and lessons because you are also given access to screen sharing. You can save the video and use/distribute it for later whenever you want.

It is very useful for long distance collaboration and instruction. I use it all of the time when creating SOPs for my Employees and Virtual Assistants.

Once you have the video you can edit it. (crop the runtime, make a cool thumbnail, etc.). Loom also tells you when and how often your loom video is watched. I like to use it for instructing VAs on how to assist me on any given project.

Once you have a video saved, you can save it to a personal library to access later. This feature is simple, but very very helpful. It is a fairly cheap product and I consider it a deal; you can use the standard version for free or upgrade to the premium version.

LastPass

LastPass is a Chrome extension that lets you save and manage passwords. The main page lets you share, accept, and manage all of your passwords for both professional and private use if you want.

There is a paid version, but you can get away with using the free version if you just want to manage your Passwords. It lets you share a login link with a partner, and withdraw it from them when you no longer need their services.

I understand that it was breached recently, but it is still the best password sharing extension on the market. There are other extensions out there if you prefer.

Video Speed Controller

This extension is a must have, especially if you are part of a bunch of facebook groups. With this extension, you can quickly and easily adjust, pause, and rewind any video you watch on google chrome.

I find it incredibly useful, and highly recommend it for anyone who has a lot of video content they need to watch. Not everyone uses the same streaming platforms, and not every platform allows you to toggle the speed.

Rev ROI

Rev ROI is a software built by Christopher Grant. It lets you find the best cashback, discounts, and any other deals that can be found. Simply paste the URL of the desired Item into the search bar at the top and then see all applicable discounts, cashback, and promotions.

It serves to help you save as much money as possible and therefore increase your own ROI. It is kind of like the Honey of Online Arbitrage, if you are familiar with that extension.

Brickseek Add-on

This add-on, made by Chris, lets you analyze BrickSeeks data and inventory info while you’re still on a retail website (ie Walmart, Target, etc.)

You will be able to Put in any Zip Code and SKU and it will check inventory for your selected store, and see where they are in stock.

Note: If you grab this add on, do not add dozens and dozens of zip codes; it has become a huge problem for the retailers we are partnered with.

ASIN Gadget

ASIN Gadget is a chrome extension that lets you see important details about each product on their respective Amazon detail page.

When I am searching an item on Amazon, ASIN Gadget tells me when that thing is:

  • Meltable
  • Restricted
  • Hazmat (Hazardous Material)

It also tells us the ASIN for the product under the product search page.

In the above example, you can see how the item isn’t restricted, is not hazmat, and is not meltable. This is very useful when your distribution centers are restrictive in what they can store for you; you can know about these issues before trouble strikes and make a more informed purchase.

ASIN Gadget also allows us to see that information before we even access the detail page.

It contains links to ASINGadget.com, Keepa and Google.

RevSeller

RevSeller is, in my opinion, one of the most valuable extensions that you can use to quickly calculate profit and ROI.

This one costs $99/year. However, There are some discounts for OA members. In my opinion, it is well worth the subscription; I am constantly using this tool.

This is one of those extensions that is most powerful in the US, but it has seen a lot of growth in Canada

With RevSeller, we can view the:

  • RankMeasured drops
  • 30, 90, 180 average day price
  • Amazon Presence
  • Out of stock rate over last 30-90 days
  • FBM and FBA sellers
  • Buy Box
  • ROI and Profit Calculator
  • Costs, Fees and Expenses
  • Parent ASIN
  • Shipping Information
  • Long Term Storage Fees
  • Lowest FBM, FBA, and BB price
  • Graph showing sales history

From here, you can then export and copy the rev seller data then turn it into a spreadsheet. You can do this through sheets, excel, or simply convert it into a CSV.

Here we have a custom made spreadsheet with URLs, graphs, and any info you could ever need.

Rev Seller is 100% one of my favorite tools and you will quickly learn why I love it so much!

Make sure that before you use it, you go through the settings, especially the costs/fees section, because that info needs to be accurate in order for RevSeller to get you the most accurate stats.

IP Alert

If you work in arbitrage long enough, you will inevitably run into IP Complaints. IP Alert serves as a way to effectively catch those litigious brands before they catch you.

Nate McCallister and I co-created this extension, and we’re really proud of it.

IP Alert is a paid extension that will passively scan brands that you see on amazon and return one of two options.

Green Check Mark = Safe (Not enough IP complaints on File to consider it a Risk)

Red Alarm = IP Claim risk

If you know of a brand that files IP complaints, you can manually suggest them through the website or email support@entreresource.com.

IP Alert is a passive chrome extension, meaning it works in the background to warn you of brands that file a lot of IP Complaints. There aren't any homepages or applications that you need to start for it to work (besides the browser you installed it on).

For example, if I were to look at this item on Amazon.com, I would see an alert like this pop up:

Alternatively if it is a "safe" brand, meaning it is a brand that has not been placed into the IP Alert watchlist, you would see a green checkmark like this:

That indicates that the developers have not labeled this brand as a high risk for IP complaints. Once enough brand reports come in and we can verify its risk, we change its status to trigger an IP alert and add it to the "risk list".

Some brands that are flagged in IP Alert may be safe to sell, but were not safe at the time of being flagged. The developers at IP Alert want to ensure that if there is any risk, you are informed about it.

Also, do not buy IP Alert yet. There are some discounts coming in the next few days so just be patient.

OA Highlight

This is a free extension that you can use to quickly run manual searches of any product on Amazon

It is a great little tool for running quick searches.

OS Add-On

The last extension we will look at is OS Add-on. This extension is a free stock counter for Amazon sellers with unlimited daily product checks. This extension will show the inventory counts for the different offers on an Amazon listing.

This is an incredibly easy way to see the real-time inventory of each seller for a specific product you may encounter on Amazon.

It isn’t the only way to find seller stock counts, but it is the most straightforward. Other techniques include things like Keepa and TA. It is a great free tool that helps you figure out stock counts quickly.

DS Amazon QuickView

This extension lets you do a quick view as you search the search page.

There is also a paid upgrade of the extension called DS Quick View Extended.

DS Quick View Extended

It allows you to filter the amazon search page according to desired parameters.

OpenList

This free extension lets you quickly copy and paste a bunch of links, which you can then open at the same exact time!

It is a simple extension but has really practical applications to OA and manual sourcing.

Day 11 Live Q+A

Does OneTab save tabs automatically?
No.

Is OA Buddy USA Exclusive?
Yeah.

What extensions are a priority?
Keepa, RevSeller, IP Alert, OA Buddy and RevROI

Most used softwares?
Mostly just Keepa, RevSeller, IP Alert, OA Buddy and RevROI.

How much do all these extensions slow down the computer?
I have a lot of ram, so there isn’t any serious lag for me, but I would guess that tabs are gonna eat more memory than the extensions.

Is there a list somewhere?
Yes, but I am gonna go through it and see about improving it?

Can you just click through RevROI or do you need the link?
You can just click through.

Why use ScribeHow over Loom?
It makes the video more SOP friendly.

Does ASINGadget and RevROI work in Canada?
Yes, to ASINGadget, no to RevROI. It is hard to track cash back and discounts across borders.

Does Amazon charge storage fees for the endless weeks they are doing FC transfers?
Yes. Storage fees start the second your inventory lands in the warehouse.

How can we use the IP Alert Mobile extension?
After your IP Alert License has been activated, scan that QR code that pops up when you click on the chrome extension from your tools menu. From there, simply follow the steps that appear on your mobile device.

Can you export from ASINGadget to TA?
Yeah!

Any discount codes for ASINGadget?
Yeah, OAC.

Which Gadgets are mobile?
Keepa, for one.

Is VideoSpeedController available on mobile?
No.

What is a Cuba scan?
Amazon will measure the size and weight of your inventory for you, but there's a limit of how many you can do.

Are RevSeller fees ever different to Amazon’s?
No, because they use Amazon’s API to get that data from the horse’s mouth.

Do you recommend waiting until all your purchases arrive before sending it in or just shipping as it arrives?
The more you can send at once, the better. However, don’t let inventory stay still for too long.

Can you share the OAC T-Shirt with the group?
Yeah!

Will current users of TA Academy get the updated version for free?
Yeah, of course.
